We have 3 different ways of getting Ubuntu conencted to the VPN. Let me start with mine that uses the standard network-manager.
Open the network manager from your ubuntu task bar, the double arrow icon:
Select the modify menu item (or however it is called in English) :
Click Add and select the VPN type "VPN Compatible Cisco AnyConnect".
If you don't have it in the list, you need to install the following packages:
sudo apt-get install network-manager-openconnect network-manager-openconnect-gnome
Fill the fields as follows :
Save as "EPFL".
Then you should be set up. Re-click on the double arrow network manager:
and select "VPN connections" and "EPFL". You should be prompted with username and password:
Enter your epfl registered email address, or if it fails, your epfl login followed by @epfl.ch. Enter password, check "Save password" and "Automatically start" and click "Login". If it succeeds, it should after a short time pop up a message saying you are successfully connected to EPFL. Check the URL provided by Kenny to verify:
If it fails, you will get the second method.
All the best
