Provenance Editor link fails and EdX Keys for Week 3, 4 and 5 invalid

#1

Hello,

In week 2 of the NeuroSimulation Mooc, the link for the provenance editor seems to be outdated or dead.
IT says that the application is not available and that
The application is currently not serving requests at this endpoint. It may not have been started or is still starting.

https://bbp-nexus.epfl.ch/provenance-editor/

This makes me unable to do the exercises or submit results for the week2.

Also for weeks 2, 3, and 4, when solving the exercises and trying to submit the answers with the single-cell-mooc-client, the keys don’t work on the HBP collab.
I read that as long as exercise 2 isn’t done it could block the submission for further exercises so the two might be linked.

Thank you for your time.

Dear user,

Thanks a lot for reporting the issue, we are currently looking into the issue. Our application is up but we are experiencing issues connecting to the HBP Identity provider. I will post an update when we have solve this issue.

Thanks for your patience.

For a bit more details, the message appears at this specific URL

https://bbp-nexus.epfl.ch/v0.9/oauth2/authorize?redirect=https://bbp-nexus.epfl.ch/provenance-editor/

It appears on chrome and firefox, whether or not I am logged in or out from the HBP login service.

Thank you for your answer.

Dear Martin,

Thanks for the added information.
We have now investigated the issue further and it appears there has been IT infrastructure changes that prevent the provenance-editor web application to communicate with the HBP identity service. This is not something we knew would happen so we hadn’t preemptively tried to address it. Rest assured that we are trying to find a way to work around the issue but this is not going to be a quick fix. We will keep working on it and let you know when we have been able to resolve it.

Thanks again for you patience.

Dear Martin,

I wanted to let you know that the issue we have encountered last week with our service has now been resolved. It would be great if you could try the Exercise of week 2 again and let us know if you are also able to proceed.

Apologies again for the inconvenience.
Best regards
Samuel

Thank you for looking into that.

It seems to be working perfectly for the provenance editor. I was able to submit the exercise without further problems.

The “key” problem was solved by using an older version of the submission package on Github.

Thank you again for your time and the course!

Regards,

Martin
